Now I am ready to confirm that participation in the China International Conference of Science and Education producers Meeting in Suzhou became true.
On behalf of the European Commission and the EU Pavilion at Shanghai Expo, „Copernicus Tomb Mystery” is invited to take part in the Suzhou Science Film Festival, taking place on 17-20 September in Suzhou near Shanghai. Copernicus film was presented durning EU-China Science & Technology Week at Science Hall in Shanghai in copperation with the Polish Pavilion. On that occasion, our film was noticed by the Director of the Suzhou Film Festival, the most important science film festival in Asia, who specifically asked EU Commission to invite author and producer to present the film. EU Commission is organizing the EU event at Suzhou, as part of the EU Pavilion EXPO 2010 activities, including a high level panel on science films in the EU on 19 September. This panel will be coordinated by Kathleen Van Damme from Lab to Media and Athena Web, and one of Europe's best experts in the field, and Mr Oliver Rassat, Director of the EU Pavilion. In total 6 EU producers will take part including me as a producer of the „Copernicus Tomb Mystery”.
I am delighted having such a great opportunity to present in Suzhou the story about great discovery of polish and swedish scientists.
Welcome to follow the blog. I will put photos and videos from my trip to China and from the „set” in Suzhou. It will be something extraordinary I am sure!
As a first impression of Chinese climate, I would like to show you the project of a leaflet with mandarin translation of the „Copernicus Tomb Mystery” title .

First three letters from the left it is the word „Copernicus”. The fourth one is the word „grave” /upper part of the letter is „the grass”, middle is „the sun”, and the bottom part of that letter is „the earth”/. Letter on the right means „mystery” but in fact there is no word „mystery” in mandarin, that letter means something like „to speak” with some added context.
So no exact words for „mystery” in mandarin. Only word „speak”! Do you remember Hamlet’s sentence: „words, words, words”. So words are covering the truth and it is the way to create the mystery. - Let’s start to learn chinese old wisdom. All real travel, worth to undertake, is the travel for knowledge ... So let’s start our trip. I will leave Gdansk on tuesday. First by car to Warsaw. then by plane via Helsinki to Shanghai and then by bus tu Suzhou.
